Terms of Service

Last updated October 30, 2026

These terms explain the rules for using Mutual Aid With Love (“MAWL”) — what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. Please read them carefully.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using MAWL you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use MAWL.

2. Who can use MAWL

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • One account per person. You're responsible for everything done with your account, so keep your password private.

3. What MAWL offers

MAWL brings together several community services:

  • Gifting cycles — members give and receive gifts in shared grids.
  • Marketplace — buy from and sell to other members.
  • Crowdfunding — create campaigns and back other members' campaigns.
  • Business directory — list and discover local businesses.
  • Wallets — hold, spend, transfer and withdraw funds on the platform.

Some features need a membership or plan. Each feature may show extra rules on its own pages; those rules form part of these terms.

4. Gifting cycles

  • Taking part in a gifting cycle is voluntary. MAWL is not an investment, and no particular return or payout date is guaranteed.
  • Payouts depend on grid activity and are made according to the rules shown for each grid at the time you join.
  • Gifting payments, entry fees and admin fees are final once made and are not refundable, except where the law requires it or MAWL support approves an exception.

5. Wallets, payments and withdrawals

  • Card payments are processed securely by Stripe.
  • Some wallet balances can be withdrawn and others can only be spent on MAWL; each wallet shows which.
  • Withdrawals may be reviewed before they're paid, and we may ask you to confirm your identity.
  • We may hold or reverse a transaction that looks fraudulent or breaks these terms.

6. Selling, campaigns and listings

  • Sellers are responsible for their products, prices, descriptions and delivery, and must follow the law.
  • Campaign creators must use funds for the purpose they describe and keep backers informed.
  • Business listings must be accurate and belong to you or a business you're allowed to represent.
  • MAWL may charge fees or commissions on these services; current fees are shown before you pay or publish.

7. Things you must not do

  • Break the law, or use MAWL for fraud, money laundering or scams.
  • Create fake accounts, or manipulate grids, reviews or campaigns.
  • Post content that is hateful, harassing, misleading, or that you don't have the right to share.
  • Try to break, overload or get around the security of MAWL.

8. Suspension and closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other members at risk. Where we can, we'll tell you why.

You can ask us to close your account at any time. A closed account can be restored within 30 days; after that its personal details are removed, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

9. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it on MAWL you give us permission to display it on the platform so the features work — for example, showing your products, campaigns or posts to other members.

10. Our responsibility

We work hard to keep MAWL running smoothly and securely, but it's provided “as is”. We aren't responsible for the actions of other members, including sellers, campaign creators and businesses.

To the extent the law allows, MAWL is not liable for indirect or unexpected losses arising from your use of the platform.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll tell you about important changes by email or on the site before they apply. Continuing to use MAWL after that means you accept the new terms.
