Sua'ad was voted 2008 Iraq Female Lawyer of the Year by the Iraq Women's Founation and in 2009 received the International Women of Courage Award from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and First Lady Michelle Obama.  She is a Hubert Humphrey Fellow at the University of Minnesota Law School and expects to complete her LLM in International Law in December 2010.
