A message from the President…

Welcome to the Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers!

Established in 1905, we are the oldest women’s bar association in the country, currently celebrating our 104th year. Our mission is “to further justice, to promote professional excellence and the advancement of women lawyers [and] to support the civic, educational and social interests of the profession…”

With this in mind, we are planning a number of educational programs for the upcoming year that we hope you will find practical and relevant. In the fall, we plan to offer a program on the Judicial Nominating Process. In December, we will again be hosting our Annual Holiday Toast at the College Club, where we honor distinguished and deserving members of the legal community and award a scholarship to a law student in memory of Carol DiMaiti. We are also working on programs for the winter and spring, and will again hold our Annual Banquet in June. In addition, we are always ready to celebrate the achievements of our members with a social reception, so please stay tuned for information on that as well. Watch your email for more details about our upcoming events and visit our website for the most up to date information.

One of the many benefits of membership is that many of our programs are included in your membership dues, so if you are not already a member, please consider joining.

Please feel free to contact me with suggestions for future programs at info@mawl.org – I welcome your ideas and suggestions. And I look forward to meeting those of you I don’t yet know well over the next year at our programs and events.

Very truly yours,

Jane Taubner Barney
