The MAWL History Project
As part of our centennial celebration, MAWL published a history of our organization and some of the people who have played a significant part in it. It is an ongoing work and we hope to add to it as information becomes available.
One Hundred Years of Women Lawyers was written by Susan G. Neisuler, a published writer and MAWL member. It is now part of the collection of several Boston law school libraries.
If you have additional information about MAWL through the years, its activities and members which you would like to pass on for posterity, please send it to: Veronica Kane, MAWL President, P. O. Box #43, Scituate, MA 02066. Any information you may have about our earliest presidents: Caroline J. Cook, Eliza W. M. Bridges, Marion L. Tyler, Amy F. Acton, Clara E. Powers, Edith H. Haynes, Vera Ryan, Mary Agnes Mahan, and Pauline Hartstone would be especially appreciated. They were all president of MAWL between 1905 and 1917, and information about them has been obscured by the mists of time. We do not want these pioneering women to remain unsung. We also do not want our more recent history to be forgotten as time passes. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity.
